Motorcycle Insurance Settlement

If you lived in the state of Massachusetts between 2002 and 2009 and purchased motorcycle insurance you may be due a refund.

In October 2010, Attorney General Martha Coakley’s Office announced that it had entered into settlements with twelve auto insurance companies, concerning allegations that consumers were overcharged for insurance.  You can learn more about the settlement by visiting the Attorney General’s website.

The refunds for overpayment issued by most companies represent the difference, as calculated by the Attorney General’s office, between the premiums paid by consumers and the premiums that would have been paid had depreciation been taken in to account and had rates remained the same, year-over-year.

Specifically, anyone purchasing comprehensive or collision coverage between 2002 and 2009 may receive a refund.
